Israel has recalled Eli Belotserkovsky: its ambassador to South Africa, after Pretoria recalled all its diplomats stationed in Israel and on the eve of a virtual Brics summit on the war in Gaza.

“Following the latest South African statements, the Israeli ambassador in Pretoria was recalled to Jerusalem for consultations,” Lior Haiat; spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday on X (ex-Twitter), without specifying the nature of these declarations.
