DRC:“The Government is determined to liberate all areas controlled by the M23”; Jean-Pierre Bemba
“The Congolese government is determined to liberate all areas controlled by the M23 to thus restore the authority of the State over the entire national territory,” declared late of this week in Goma (North Kivu), during the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Jean-Pierre Bemba.

He spoke thus during his visit to assess the security situation in this province, the scene of clashes between the Congolese army and the M23 rebels, insisting that they are supported by Rwanda, although the latter denied it.
The war between FARDC, Wazalendo, FDRL, SADC, and M23 rebels is at the forefront in the region surrounding Goma town, where M23 said that wanted to close the major roads used by the Congolese government to supply the war's materials to their soldiers.
The Minister of Defense and the Chief of General Staff of the FARDC, Army General Christian Tshiwewe, went to Sake, 27km from Goma to comfort the troops engaged at the front and also congratulate them for their work.
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense visited the war wounded.
He also provided aid from the President of the Republic to around ten families bereaved by the recent clashes.
Furthermore, Jean-Pierre Bemba also met with the Acting Force Commander of MONUSCO. The discussions focused on the coordination of actions against the M23 as part of Operation Springbok to ensure the defense of Goma and Saké.
