Taylor Swift, 'Time' magazine's 2023 person of the year, over Putin, Xi Jinping, King Charles III.

Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, King Charles III, and even Barbie, were present. However, it's finally Taylor Swift who was named the Person of the Year 2023 by Time Magazine. A distinction that crowns a crazy year for the American.

Taylor Swift is a singer, but also, now, a cultural and economic phenomenon.  She’s 33 years old. Her last world tour should collect more than 2 billion dollars.

A country venue, it adds a new distinction to a long list of successes and records. She was named by the American magazine Time, personality of the Year 2023. “A large part of what (Taylor) Swift has accomplished in 2023 is immeasurable (...) She is committed to giving value to the dreams, feelings, and experiences of people, especially women, who feel neglected and regularly underestimated”, The editor-in-chief, Sam Jacobs, said.

Author, composer, and performer, Taylor Swift launched her career in 2006 with her first hit, Tim McGraw. She was 16 years old. Three years later (2009), her album Fearless became the best-selling album in the United States. Since its beginnings, it has built a veritable empire, worth, according to certain estimates, more than a billion dollars. The interpretation of Midnight Rain, Shake It Off and Cruel Summer could even influence the 2024 presidential campaign.

This is the first time that a personality belonging to the cultural scene gets this. Last year, it was the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky who was celebrated by Time, Elon Musk, patron of SpaceX and X (ex-Twitter), he was distinguished by the American magazine in 2021.
