DRC: The unsuccessful candidate called for the Constitutional Court to authorize the CENI to recount votes to correct material errors

During an interview with Radio Okapi, this candidate from the UDPS political party estimated that this recount of votes could help restore justice.

“It is very difficult for candidates to gather evidence, PVs. However, I have these minutes and I submitted them to the Court because to say that I obtained only 600 votes is not possible,” she indicated.

She is convinced that there is a material error in the counting of her votes and wants the Court to help correct this error.

If Pascaline Kudura wants, at all costs, to follow through with her claim, it is because she has experience with material errors during elections, she says.

In 2006, when she was a candidate for national deputy, she says, the same scenario happened. A material error in the summation of votes.

“At that time, I had been rehabilitated by the Supreme Court of Justice after my appeal. There were still material errors,” she recalls, before adding that she has confidence in the justice of her country.

“We will submit the pleading note and by March 23, we will have the verdict. The Court will rule on the law after examining various requests,” she concluded with determination.
